The worldwide market for PV systems with storage is forecast to grow rapidly to reach $19 billion in 2017, from less than $200 million in 2012. Following the introduction of an energy storage subsidy in Germany, global installations of PV storage systems might grow by more than 100 percent a year on average over the next five years, to reach almost 7 gigawatts (GW) in 2017 and worth $19 billion. In the future, opportunities will exist in many regions and Germany's share of the global market naturally will fall as a result.

Our distinguished speakers, Sam Wilkinson (IHS Senior Research Analyst) and Dr. Vetter (Scientist at Fraunhofer Institute), will be sharing their insights regarding market predictions and mid-term technological and performance trends, and a possible global deployment scenarios in selected markets in Europe and the U.S.

  • The Potential for Energy Storage in the PV Industry - Drivers, Forecasts and Opportunities

    (Sam Wilkinson)

  • Battery Systems for PV Applications - Technologies, Developments and Challenges

    (Dr. Matthias Vetter)

The webinar is intended to provide an overview of the existing storage market, its drivers and potential as well as the technological solutions and future storage trends.
